The Aphrodisiacs Drink Meme

[wow that's creepy. after about ten minutes of trying to rest while being stared at, he grumpily gets up again and moves into the shelter of one of the massive tree roots coming through the wall of the cave, so that her view is at least partially obscured. take that, Riku.]

[There's an audible sigh from Riku, and then the sound of her moving away. If he's going to be like that, she'll just use the opportunity to go work on other plans.]

[o good. he manages to get some fitful sleep during however long she's gone. it's not restful, but it lets him recharge a bit and calm down. what the hell is she planning.]

[A lot of things. As it is, she'll be gone for a couple of hours. Stripping down to hang her own clothes out to dry, swimming out to catch a pile of fish, which they'll need for food, since she doesn't plan on taking them back into the DR any time soon. Not as long as he isn't cooperating, anyway. She's also gathering wood for a fire on the opposite side of the island. Basically, she's been busy.]

[well, once he gives up on sleep after those couple of hours, he gets up to look around the cave and see what his options are. they're pretty limited, and he knows that, but it's not stopping him. there's the door, which won't open for him at all, and would probably resist being attacked, so he doesn't even bother. he's got a little water now, which, truth be told, he probably should have some of, but not for a while. he doesn't have any food unless Riku's planning on dropping some down and/or bribing him to come out with it. he has no idea how long she's planning on keeping him here, or how long the spell on her might last. his phone is totally fucked up from everything, so at least if Kai tries to call him after a while it'll give him some kind of indication that something's wrong, but that wouldn't be of much help. his only real options for escape are:

1) doing some kind of reverse thing through his necklace that's linked to the ones Riku and Nami and Kai and people have, specifically to Nami's, and hoping that Nami would be able to follow it to him with a portal and get him out.

2) trying to somehow tunnel his way back to the mainland– no, that's stupid and implausible even for him. option two is killing himself and hoping he comes back in the DR and somewhere that isn't here. but that's kind of dramatic for the situation, when he's fully capable of waiting Riku out for at least a couple of days. this still sucks, though. :( ]

[He's free to try any or all of those ideas while she's busy. But eventually she will be coming back, at least to check up on him. She's tossed her mostly-dry shirt back on at that point, but the jeans and shoes are left behind.]

Axel?

[he's sitting with his back against one wall of the cave, looking contemplatively at a large, rough shard of pseudo-glass he's holding in his hands. there are more shards of it on the ground some distance away; he blasted a patch of sand until it turned mostly to glass, and then busted it up with a rock. he's not seriously considering killing himself to get away, but the thought is there. at least now he has a weapon to use against her if he needs to.]

What do you want.

To see you. I'm surprised you're awake already. Are you hungry?

[She shifts, putting her face closer to the gap.]

What did you do this time?

No, and I'm not telling you. Come down here if you want to know so badly.

[he sounds sullen, and tired, and distant, almost; he's half inside his own head, dealing with Hachibi, who's still rattled and angry and a million other things.]

I can't fit through here, and you've blocked the entrance.

[She sets her chin in her hand, head tilted. As if she can't just open a portal into the place.]

Do you want me to come in there?

[that's occurring to him right now, and with it comes an idea. he's already in survival mode, so it wouldn't be hard, emotionally. he has a house of people he's extremely close to waiting for him; she has an apartment. going home, for her, would be vastly more pleasant and safe than it would be for him. plus he's got an unbroken record of having never died in this place or in the Room of Requirement, and he'd really rather not break it with something like suicide just to get away from a temporarily-spelled crazy woman. now his voice is carefully neutral and uncaring, and he stays seated right where he is for now.]

[She goes quiet, because that wasn't the response she was expecting to hear. It makes her pause to think the situation over. There's nothing he can do to her that would really bother her in there, and he can't just be expecting to escape through the portal she makes - there's nowhere to go on this island. So after a moment she moves away to where she can stand properly, and then appears through a portal against the door. Even if he was planning to kill her on sight, she can't resist being near him right now.]

[he doesn't move, and doesn't look up at her. there's something kind of defeated about his body language, but if she comes close enough, he's going to attack.]

So how long are you planning on keeping me here?

[She doesn't at first, waiting to see if he makes any moves, but eventually she will move closer.]

Depends on how long you want us to be here. You can make this really simple, Axel.

[he digs a hand into his hair, desperately, keeping the shard of glass obscured between his knees.]

Please, Riku, I just want to go home where it's safe and comfortable. I'll even go to your place with you if you want, but I don't want to stay here.

[now he's looking up at her hopefully, trying to appeal to the fact that she seems to want him compliant and in one piece. it'd be nice if he could get out of here with just this, so no blood has to be spilled, but he's not holding his breath for it.]

[She looks tempted by that idea, but sadly, as if it's something she does want, but something that can't happen.]

But you'd leave me.

I wouldn't, I'd stay as long as you wanted! Please, I'm sitting naked in a cave on an island, I just want to be somewhere better than this. You want me to be happy, right?

[he's working the eyes now, the sad eyes that often get people to crumble.]

Of course I do. But I want you to be safe and happy with me. Look, I know you don't understand it, but I know what I'm doing.

[She drops to her knees on the ground a few feet away from him, looking relaxed.]

But you don't trust me. How can I know you won't leave, Axel? I had to nearly kill you to bring you down enough that I could stop you.

I didn't know what you wanted then, but I understand now, Riku. Just take me to your place if that's what you want, there's no reason we need to stay out here and tough it out like we're trapped here or something. You can't be comfortable here either, even if it is where you spent a lot of time here as a kid. This place isn't meant to be lived on, so let's just go somewhere with furniture and a bed and real food, and I'll stay with you as long as you want, please.

[he looks desperate, and genuinely upset, and pleading. come on, Riku, can you really resist that face. ;o; ]

[She looks extremely hesitant, still, but there are two things that factor into her decision. The first is that Axel can't be back to full power yet, not with that small amount of sleep and no food on his stomach. The other is what he listed off, which included a bed. A bed. Not beds, or a bed and a couch, but a bed. She doesn't think he's suggesting they'll have sex, but it still changes how she's picturing it completely. She nods, then holds out her hand to him.]

Don't make that a lie, Axel.

[he drops the glass shard on the ground, even, and takes her hand, looking relieved as all hell. he IS relieved, truly, because it'll get him off this damn island, and he'll have a vastly greater chance of getting outside help from her place. hell, if Kai's been trying to reach him, Riku would've been the next attempt, probably, and then maybe Riku's place to see if either of them were there.]

[She waits a beat, still uncertain, then smiles and opens a portal around them. The the darkness around them will fade out to reveal her room.]

[he's tense again once they come through, just as a reflex (the last time he was in darkness like that, he came out the other side into OCEAN), but he relaxes quickly, and detaches from her gratefully to go flop on his face on the bed. he doesn't care that he's giving her a nice view of his ass, or that his feet are hanging off the bed, he's just happy to be somewhere comfortable and a long way away from any bodies of water.]

[She immediately drops to sit beside him, moving a hand to sweep some of his hair out of her way. She's perfectly content with this.]

[he's so tired now, coming down from the adrenaline high that he's basically been on for the last three hours or however long it's been, that he's more than willing to let her do that. it actually feels kind of nice. but if she tries to cozy up to him with anything more than friendly cuddling, he's totally shoving her off the bed.]
