[She looks extremely hesitant, still, but there are two things that factor into her decision. The first is that Axel can't be back to full power yet, not with that small amount of sleep and no food on his stomach. The other is what he listed off, which included a bed. A bed. Not beds, or a bed and a couch, but a bed. She doesn't think he's suggesting they'll have sex, but it still changes how she's picturing it completely. She nods, then holds out her hand to him.]

[he drops the glass shard on the ground, even, and takes her hand, looking relieved as all hell. he IS relieved, truly, because it'll get him off this damn island, and he'll have a vastly greater chance of getting outside help from her place. hell, if Kai's been trying to reach him, Riku would've been the next attempt, probably, and then maybe Riku's place to see if either of them were there.]

[She waits a beat, still uncertain, then smiles and opens a portal around them. The the darkness around them will fade out to reveal her room.]

[he's tense again once they come through, just as a reflex (the last time he was in darkness like that, he came out the other side into OCEAN), but he relaxes quickly, and detaches from her gratefully to go flop on his face on the bed. he doesn't care that he's giving her a nice view of his ass, or that his feet are hanging off the bed, he's just happy to be somewhere comfortable and a long way away from any bodies of water.]

[She immediately drops to sit beside him, moving a hand to sweep some of his hair out of her way. She's perfectly content with this.]

[but. :( after a little while, Axel stirs to pull himself properly up onto the bed, hauling himself up toward the pillows and then crawling under the blankets headfirst. by the time he settles on his side, only his feet are sticking out next to the pillows. don't disturb this arrangement, Riku, it's making him feel safer.]

[She leans back to give him room for that, and a few minutes after he settles down she shifts away, and then heads downstairs. She'll let him sleep in peace for now, but she's not going anywhere.]

[he actually manages to sleep properly, after that, if you can call waking up every hour or so with choked-off noises of pure panic "properly". it's still an unfamiliar bed with mostly unfamiliar smells, but it's comfortable and warm and dry, so he gets some decent rest and rebuilds a little of his strength. Hachibi's still not settled down, but whatever.]
