Or coversely you could have gone to get some shut eye and suddenly you wake up in someone elses' bed!

Really, everything and anything goes-- but somebody is not in their own bed.

[Since he doesn't always see things the exact same way everyone else does he'll have to be forgiven for assuming the more likely explanation. As long as there's no actual sunshine anywhere near him he's pretty much fine with the room.]

I don't imagine there's much I can change about that while the sun is up.

There isn't exactly much choice. I can't go out in sun light, and any action attempted during the day is incredibly draining.

At most I could move to another room provided there's no sunlight between here and there.

I could feasibly remove my presence from his mind or prevent him from registering it in the first place, but I'm unsure of how long I could maintain that if I return to sleep or how strong the effects would be during the day.

Memory and perception are two entirely different things. I can't change someone's memory, but I change someone's perception, and I can't imagine you'd appreciate me doing something drastic like driving him insane, even temporarily.

[Of course if he had the skill set to erase memories, it would be far easier to just to use the powers of suggestion to just ignore the situation.]

I sincerely doubt he's even half as mad as some people I know.
